Earthing

What’s Earthing you say?? Basically the same thing as #grounding. Connecting with the earth, playing in the dirt, walking in the grass, planting flowers or hugging a tree, all count as Earthing, or grounding. Going to the beach and being barefoot in the sand is another fun way to ground!

More often than not, we spend our lives in rubber bottom shoes. What’s the harm in that? Well rubber is not a conduit of electricity. So when we wear rubber bottom shoes, we are “protecting” ourselves from electricity. Example: They say during a lightening storm (if you are outside), we can get in our cars for safety, as they have rubber tires- although those rubber bottom shoes won’t protect us from lightening, they do prevent us from connecting with the magnetic field of the planet. We aren’t connecting with our Mother Earth Gaia anymore, like our ancestors were, and it shows in the chaotic society we see around us today.

It’s important for our energy field to be grounded and recharged through the magnetic field in the Earth. Either being #barefoot or wearing #leather bottom shoes can help with that! I recently made myself suede moccasins and love them! You can find kits online or at your local hobby store.

There are other techniques listed below that can help as well.

EARTHING is also know to heal our bodies. #Connecting with the #dirt is not only grounding, but it can add to the good microbes and probiotics we need on our skin for healthy balance and a strong #immunesystem.

Remember the days when it was ok to get dirty!?? 🤔🤔 This is actually good for us!! For many reasons! Touching the dirt, plants and trees helps to keep our skin healthy and our bodies balanced. Which can lead to less dis-ease- energetically and physically. It raises our alkaline levels and our energetic vibration which will also help in preventing dis-ease and illness. It boosts our immune system and keeps us grounded. We can learn from our pets, who love to lay in the dirt, or roll in the grass. They intuitively know that this is important!

CONNECT WITH NATURE

What can we do to ground ourselves?

Get out in nature! Going for a hike in the woods or a walk in the beach is very grounding. Connecting with our Mother Earth Gaia is so important for us spiritually as well as physically and energetically.

If you are in an area with a forest, taking a hike and finding a tree to sit under is a great option! I love to find a tree that has giant roots that can create a seat where I can lean on the tree and meditate. Or just look around and take it all in!

MINDFULNESS is another great tool for grounding.

We get so caught up in our heads. Our ego gets in our way by making us worry about things we cannot control, or creating anxiety over what might happen. We can reel this in by being aware of our current circumstances. Being present in the moment. To do this, focus on very specific things you are touching or doing. “I am cutting an onion” “I am walking to the kitchen”. Be mindful of each step and breath you take. Stay present and aware of your surroundings. Mindful everything, from walking to going to the bathroom will keep you grounded into the present moment. How many times do you do things, including driving, and think “I don’t remember doing that” right after you did? Because your mind wasn’t present. Mindful eating will even help with weight release. Your body will then remember that it ate and not feel hungry, even when it’s not. I recently heard a suggestion for grounding when you’re in a public situation. Touch your fingernails. Feel them, be aware of them and appreciate the job they do to protect the tips of your fingers. Be aware not to pick at them! Just touch.

VISUALIZATION grounding technique:

Sit or stand with your #barefeet in the grass or dirt (this is not completely necessary, but recommended when weather allows) Our bodies are energy and like any energy, they need grounded. (Remember- Rubber bottom shoes don’t allow the current from the earth to enter our bodies.)

Visualize your feet growing roots or if you're sitting, your torso growing a trunk into the ground. Imagine the roots of the tree borrowing down deep through all the layers of the Earth. Down, down, down, until they reach the core of the earth. Allow those roots to grab onto the core of the earth and make sure they’re good and snug! Bring that core energy up through those roots into your body. Up through your feet, until they reach the top of your head. Imagine you are connected and a part of the earth. You can even do this quickly when feeling the need to ground while in public.
